Shipping And Receiving Associate

This position is responsible for loading trucks overnight, ensuring they are ready to go out in the morning. The role may involve operating forklifts, side loaders, or overhead cranes. Employees will read work orders, locate parts, and load them onto trucks. The work schedule is primarily 1st shift, Monday to Friday, 6am to 3:30pm, with an additional 3rd shift opening from Sunday to Thursday, 9:30pm to 6am.

Responsibilities

Complete basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions.

Move inventory or equipment and fill customer orders.

Pull material from racks, unload incoming material, and load trucks or customer vehicles.

Help maintain the upkeep of the warehouse.

Receive and place or return items into stock inventory locations.

Pull and assemble orders based on work or shipping orders or other documentation.

Tag material for proper identification and complete all required documentation.

Move material from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas using forklift, side loader, or crane.

Operate yard truck for loading and unloading trailers.

Maintain work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.

Sort and place material on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, or product code.

Conduct spot checks on inventory and complete daily and ad hoc checks for proper tagging of material, as directed.

Report any irregularities to supervisor for direction.

Restock material as needed.

Occasionally drive a motor vehicle (non-DOT truck) for local deliveries and parts pick-ups.

Adhere to and ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.

Perform all other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

Essential Skills

Basic arithmetic and measurement skills

Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 60 pounds repetitively

Basic computer proficiency

Additional Skills & Qualifications

0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

High School diploma or GED preferred

Warehousing and material handling experience preferred

Ability to read and comprehend written instructions

Basic manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination

Ability to stand for sustained periods

Ability to push or pull 80 pounds of force

Ability to work in temperatures over 100 degrees F and below 32 degrees F

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
