Position Summary:
The Associate Director, International Accounting & Consolidations will interact at various levels within Accounting, Finance, Tax, Alliance Management and Legal to ensure timely and accurate consolidation of Travere Therapeutic's subsidiaries, complete and compliant intercompany activity, and robust international control environment. This individual will be the primary Finance contact at corporate headquarters for all inquiries related to accounting, policies, systems, licensing and collaboration agreements, intercompany agreements related to Travere's foreign subsidiaries.
Responsibilities:
- Corporate Headquarters (HQ) primary contact for foreign subsidiaries on support, accounting policies, systems, intercompany agreements, and operational questions.
- Prepares consolidation and elimination journal entries working closely with members of Finance and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting team on close timelines and disclosures.
- Review foreign subsidiary monthly and quarterly financial statements and account reconciliations.
- Reconciles intercompany and related accounts and prepares cross-charges, invoices, settlements and cash transfers.
- Facilitates the execution of monthly and quarterly close meetings and touch points with international finance teams.
- Responsible for preparation, review and issuance of local statutory financial statements.
- Serve as Finance lead with international collaboration and licensing partners.
- Lead process improvements to streamline the accounting, intercompany settlement, consolidation and elimination processes.
- Ability to participate in meetings occurring outside of normal working hours to accommodate international team members.
- Facilitates and leads accounting with internal and 3rd parties related to new international entities, structural changes, mergers, or liquidations.
- Prepares annual SOX scoping analysis and facilitates SOX testing.
- Works closely with the VP of Tax and external consultants on international tax strategy, "substance" requirements, VAT and related matters.
- Prepares foreign subsidiary Board meeting finance support.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant discipline; CPA preferred (or equivalent experience). 8+ years in multinational consolidation and international accounting with multi-currency, statutory reporting, and IFRS-to-US GAAP experience within an ERP environment. Demonstrated expertise in US GAAP including ASC 830 and translation/remeasurement, plus ASC 808 and ASC 606 for collaboration and license arrangements (life sciences experience strongly preferred). Working knowledge of international tax concepts impacting accounting.
