Pay Information $2,240 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience required License: Current NY state license required Certifications: BLS certification required Must-Have: - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Management of dysrhythmias - Use of Rapid Response Teams - Peripheral line care and management - Nasal cannula and oxygen face masks - Portable oxygen tank and non-invasive airway management - Isolation precautions Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical/Telemetry. Registered Nurses will care for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of diagnoses, including spinal stenosis, peripheral vascular disease, diabetic ulcers, lung carcinoma, and pleural effusions. Patient ratios for day and evening shifts are generally 5:1. Night shifts typically see ratios of 6:1 to 7:1, with stretch ratios potentially reaching 9:1 to 10:1. The unit is supported by Patient Care Technicians who assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living. An in-house phlebotomy team handles all peripheral lab draws. Nursing responsibilities will include managing PICC lines and central lines. Travel nurses may be required to float to other medical surgical units, maintaining the scope of practice. Interpretation of dysrhythmias and knowledge of rapid response team activation are essential skills for this role. The facility utilizes Epic for charting; therefore, candidates must have Epic experience. Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, such as IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services, is part of the role. Nurses will adhere to isolation precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary. This position aligns with a focus on high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.
