American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in an acute care Family Birthing Center with advanced fetal monitoring and night shift requirements.Job Details•Position is in an acute care Family Birthing Center with L&D and Mother/Baby antepartum and postpartum patient populations,•Unit specializes in all aspects of delivery, including term, preterm, and high-risk patients,•Ratios are 1:2 for L&D, 1:1 for delivery, and 1:4 for Mother/Baby couplets,•12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required, report at bedside at 6:45 pm,•Floating may occur to other Sacramento facilities; mid-shift floats are rare but possible,•Required to be the first to float among staff,•Call may be required with a 30-minute response time,•EMR is Cerner and experience is required,•Unit includes a charge nurse, nurse aides as needed, and support from hospitalist, RT, and pharmacy 24/7,•Scrubs are provided,Job Requirements•Active RN license (state or compact) must be in hand at time of consideration,•Minimum two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required,•Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring required; STABLE is preferred,•Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips,•Experience with 'catching babies' (taking NRP role at delivery) is strongly preferred,•Will not consider first-time travelers,•May not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit (including CHI or Dignity) within the past year unless PRN through outside agencies,•Two professional references required: one supervisor from the past 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the past three years,•Copy of driver's license required for consideration,Additional Information•Responsibilities include circulating in the OR for C-sections with designated roles for mother and baby,•Unit provides excellent breastfeeding support and has a 'baby friendly' designation,•Testing on dysrhythmia and sterile technique will be required during orientation,•Holiday coverage will rotate with core staff,•Work within a supportive interdisciplinary team with floor-specific orientation by a preceptor,•Schedule is managed via self-scheduling system but finalized by management; block scheduling is generally not available,),•hash,:• ,
