American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a minimum of two years' recent relevant experience and willingness to participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season.Job Details•Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting,•Care for patients with cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and medical-surgical diagnoses including chest pain, arrhythmias, DM, COPD exacerbation, PNA, HTN, MI, renal failure, CHF, GI bleed, syncope, and more,•Potential for overflow from other med-surg cases such as sepsis, CVA, and COVID+,•Perform specialized post-procedure care including pre/post cath lab, PPM/AICD, ablations, vascular surgeries, post-op thoracotomy, and AAA repair,•Administer and titrate drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and Heparin, and perform sheath pulling at the bedside,•Use telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs,•Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15),•Required to float to all other inpatient units as needed,•Required to work every other holiday,Job Requirements•Active RN license (Compact or LA) in hand at time of consideration,•Minimum two years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required,•All certifications must be from the American Heart Association (AHA),•Must live more than 65 miles from the facility,•Up-to-date NURSYS report required,•Able to participate in emergency or relief teams during hurricane season,Additional Information•Responsibilities include post-surgical and telemetry care, medication titration, and advanced interventions,•Required to remain at facility or report as assigned during hurricanes when designated part of an emergency or relief team,•First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment,•Must discuss all requested time off during interview,•Separation of at least one year required for candidates with previous permanent or in-house agency experience at this health system,•Orientation sessions held five days a week
