Job Description

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Human Resources department, reporting to the Director of Human Resources, and responsible for a variety of Human Resources functions. This position ensures compliance with hotel policies and procedures, conducts training, administers benefits, handles workers compensation, oversees leaves of absence, and manages the employee life cycle.

  • Approach all encounters with guests and team members in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Complete new hire onboarding: scheduling interviews, conducting prescreening interviews, completing reference checks, and finalizing offers in a timely manner.
  • Administer the offboarding process and prepare all HR documents for termination meetings.
  • Oversee I9 compliance.
  • Prepare necessary documents for new hire packages.
  • Administer accurately the payroll system with new hires, changes, and terminations.
  • Ensure all reports are completed for any workers' compensation injury and assist in monitoring the claim & medical follow-up at the clinic.
  • Monitor and maintain logs including leaves of absence, training, and orientation.
  • Respond to unemployment claims.
  • Ensure all legal postings are up to date.
  • Ensure team member bulletin boards are current.
  • Organize and coordinate team member weekly/monthly trainings and events.
  • Participate in Safety Committee meetings.
  • Assist with special projects and plan employee events.
  • Conduct/assist with training and orientation.
  • Administer insurance benefits, explain benefits, assist with enrollment, and answer questions.
  • Compile review lists and distribute to departments.
  • Monitor and respond to Leaves of Absence.
  • Manage Workman's Compensation claims, report injuries, and follow up with injured team members.
  • Assist team members with questions about the 401(k) plan, vacation, and other benefits.
  • Handle recruitment advertising and track referrals.
  • Process paperwork for terminating employees.
  • Become certified trainer in all HR training modules.
  • Ensure compliance with HR and Loss Prevention SOPs.
  • Promote hotel vision/mission and guest service standards.
  • Attend meetings as needed and in the absence of the HR Director.
  • Maintain communication with departments regarding HR matters.
  • Complete training on HR systems like ADP Workforce Now and Recruiting Management.
  • Assist with questions and complaints, keeping the HR Director informed.
  • Facilitate hiring through ADP Recruiting Management system.
  • Maintain employee files.
  • Update the HR Director on open positions and hiring progress.
  • Send HR notifications via Beekeeper and update postings.
  • Audit and complete special projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • College degree required (preferably with focus in Human Resources).
  • 24 years of progressive HR administrative experience, hospitality experience preferred.
