Plant Manager
Department: Production Admin
Location: Spring Hill, TN
The Plant Manager is responsible for improving and maintaining Safety, Quality and Production processes in a manner promoting a safe workplace, protects the environment and exceeds regulatory requirements in a continuous improvement mindset. The Plant Manager is also responsible for the operation of the site and ensuring the site performs operationally and financially, while providing a culturally positive and customer focused environment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- All employees are responsible for supporting and promoting a Commitment to Quality;
- Ensure the production of quality products in a safe environment;
- Support the General Manager in managing the P&L;
- Responsible for operations of the plant and ensuring quality output that meet the needs for the organization and its customers;
- Oversee the activities of all functions/teams in Production, Maintenance and Engineering, Sanitation, and employees;
- Implement and support regulations by certifying organizations including, but not limited to FDA, Organic, Kosher, Halal, NSF, and BRC;
- Foster a team environment with a continuous improvement culture for safety, quality, productivity, and effective costs;
- Establish weekly, monthly, and annual goals and metrics in collaboration with the department managers to support the business;
- Provide consistent leadership in working with and managing people and providing all employees with a positive, engaging work environment;
- Develop and foster a continuous improvement culture empowering employees and driving efficiencies in the operations;
- Keep continuous improvement forefront in operations and define improvement projects;
- Lead and ensure a culture of professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement;
- Dedicated to achieving complete customer satisfaction;
- Follow and enforce cGMP guidelines and processes as established in department SOPs;
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a preferred core science, engineering or management; Masters degree is a plus;
- 7-10 years of experience preferred with a demonstrated track record of increased responsibilities;
- Ability to verbally communicate with all levels throughout the organization;
- Make educated decisions on correctness, accuracy, and appropriateness of information;
- Must be able to organize, and prioritize and make decisions;
- Must be able to create and maintain systems for keeping up on details on multiple projects;
- Must continually demonstrate a very strong attention to detail, careful execution of tasks, and regularly check own work;
- Must be able to extract and analyze data from the ERP system and have strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word;
- Responsible for the safety and regulatory compliance of all employees and create a culture where safety is the priority.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.;
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time;
- Must be able to wear any required PPE such as scrubs, hair net, safety glasses, lab coat, and facemask;
- Ability to work in an area with a moderate powder substance in the air with or without a respirator;
- Ability to work above shoulders;
- Other physical requirements include frequent squatting, bending, twisting, and bi-lateral wrist movement;
- Ability to work around a variety of different smells and aromas;
- Ability to view a computer screen and type for extended hours;
- Must be able to make frequent rounds in a manufacturing and warehouse environment;
- Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require.
