KPMG is seeking an Associate Director to join our Enterprise Contracting Center, State & Local Government Team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Apply advanced knowledge of contract management to drive a service-centric strategy for ECC contracts; develop negotiation strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance; lead programs and projects independently, consulting with senior leadership as needed.
  2. Act as the primary contact throughout the contract process; review client redlines and terms, escalate clauses for review, negotiate directly with clients, and incorporate SME input.
  3. Manage contract portfolio, support documentation for reviews, audits, and claims; analyze and provide advice on medium complexity matters, applying guidance consistently.
  4. Interface effectively with partners, professionals, and clients; create contracts from templates, conduct client discussions, and provide guidance on terms to align with firm capabilities.
  5. Manage the Contract Lifecycle Management System; analyze and suggest process improvements to enhance client value and efficiency; oversee tactical plans and progress.
  6. Provide coaching and mentorship to junior staff; review work products; participate in resource planning and team development.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of eight years in contract management, procurement, or deal negotiation, preferably in professional services, Federal, SLG, or commercial contracting.
  • Bachelor's degree; master's or NCMA certifications preferred.
  • Ability to identify risks, analyze processes, and work with data; comfortable with ambiguity and big-picture strategy.
  • Experience managing complex programs, building relationships, and advocating for best practices; legal acumen preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Leadership skills to set goals, participate in strategic initiatives, and foster high-performance teams.

The California salary range is $124,000 - $258,800.
