The company is entering a significant growth phase and seeks a finance executive capable of building institutional-grade infrastructure from the ground up.
The Vice President of Finance will serve as the senior financial executive of the operating company, assuming full responsibility for accounting, reporting, compensation systems, budgeting, cash flow management, and post-acquisition integration. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role, ideally suited for a candidate with a strong accounting foundation and prior experience in transaction-driven, service-based businesses.
The position requires not only technical expertise but also the ability to operate independently, implement scalable processes, and maintain precision in a lean environment. As the business scales, this role will be central to ensuring financial discipline, reporting integrity, and investor readiness.'
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Operations & Reporting
- Oversee all core finance and accounting functions
- Perform daily bank and transaction reconciliations to ensure real-time cash tracking and early detection of discrepancies
- Manage the monthly close process and produce GAAP-compliant financial statements
- Lead the transition from cash to accrual accounting, establishing company-wide financial controls and policies
- Develop and maintain sophisticated KPIs and performance dashboards to support decision-making and drive accountability across the business
- Build internal reporting tools to provide performance insights by business unit, geography, and revenue contributor
- Design and maintain systems for calculating and disbursing commission-based compensation
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance in all compensation-related processes
- Structure compensation frameworks that support profitability, retention, and growth
- Build and maintain the company's operating budget and dynamic forecasting models
- Manage real-time and forward-looking cash flow tracking to inform capital planning and decision-making
- Deliver financial analysis to support strategic planning and operational execution
- Identify and implement scalable financial systems, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and commission tracking platforms
- Standardize financial operations across all business lines
- Integrate acquired companies into the financial structure, ensuring continuity in reporting, compliance, and systems alignment
- Manage all tax, payroll, and regulatory reporting obligations
- Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure audit readiness and mitigate financial risk
- Maintain compliance with labor classifications and compensation-related regulations
- Personally manage all finance and accounting functions in the early phase
- Oversee external vendors including bookkeeping, tax advisory, and audit firms
- Build internal capacity over time as complexity and transaction volume increase
Experience
- Minimum if 8 years in finance and accounting, with at least 2-4 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven track record transitioning from cash to accrual accounting
- Direct experience integrating acquisitions into a centralized financial operation
- Preference for experience in real estate services or similarly structured, transaction-heavy, service-oriented business
- Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in KPI development and financial performance analysis
- Experience managing commission-based compensation structures
- Advanced modeling, forecasting, and Excel capabilities
- Familiarity with systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, Sage Intacct, Gusto, Spiff, and related platforms
- CPA preferred but not required
- Base Salary: $175,000
- Annual Bonus: Discretionary, based on individual and company performance
- Equity Participation: Option package tied to company performance, with participation in any future liquidity event
