Job Summary

The Development Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the fundraising and development activities. This position is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising activities, events, and donor communications. The Development Coordinator will work closely with the development team to ensure the success of initiatives that drive donor engagement, fundraising goals, and organizational growth. This role will also have a role in providing donor stewardship for high-level donors, endowments, and foundation reporting.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • 50% Serves as the main administrative resource for the Director of Development and provide operational support to deliver the University of New Orleans fundraising goals. The Development Coordinator will be responsible for producing high-quality documents and presentation materials such as prospect research, and solicitation planning. This position will also ensure contact notes and prospect information is accurately maintained in Raiser's Edge and monitor development activities to identify and recommend opportunities for continued development and improvement for enhanced alumni engagement and fundraising success.
  • 35% Works closely with the Manager of Donor Relations and Principal Gifts to support gift recognition and stewardship activities. Work closely with the development team to coordinate grant reporting cycles including communications and reporting to grantors.
  • 5% Support the event promotion by preparing materials, emails, and social media content. Ensure smooth execution of events and support post-event follow-up and communications.
  • 5% Assists with the production of periodic reports as required for the Foundation's committee members, President/CEO of UNO Foundation, and the Director of Development.
  • 5% Performs other responsibilities assigned as needed to meet the goals and objectives of the University of New Orleans

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Applied and analytical thinking skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be flexible regarding work schedule, with availability to work some evening and weekends
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new digital platforms and programs
  • Demonstrated commitment to a high level of donor/customer service
  • Strong team concept and experience working in a results-oriented team environment
  • Professional demeanor
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Solid writing, editing and presentation ability
  • Attention to detail and accurate record keeping
  • Proven ability to work independently to accomplish goals and establish priorities with minimal supervision

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Higher Education, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, or Non-Profit fundraising.
  • For the right candidate, this position could develop into advancement as a Major Gift Officer.
  • Proficiency in use of donor databases and digital platforms, e.g., Raiser's Edge/NXT, GiveCampus, Raise/ Gravyty
  • Ability to respond to multiple demands concurrently.
