We are searching for the best talent for Associate Director, Society Engagement & Tradeshows to join our Heart Recovery team in the United States. This is a remote role. While specific cities are listed in the Locations section for reference, please note that they are examples only and do not limit your application.

Purpose:

Drive customer engagement through society partnerships, society engagement, and society meetings. The AD, Society Engagement will have significant interaction with cross functional teams, product marketing, field-based sales force, physicians, key customers, medical societies leadership, and members. This role must work collaboratively to expand J&J MedTech Heart Recovery's presence within current society partnerships and meetings.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Society Strategy:
  • Lead national strategy for targeted initiatives with societies and society leadership.
  • Provide expert insights and guidance relative to the strategic direction on why, how, and who (KOLs/Societies) we would identify and engage on product development, clinical trials, market positioning, and educational initiatives, leveraging their influence within the medical community to promote new technologies and optimize patient care.
  • Establish and foster relationships with key individuals and organizations within medical societies.
Tradeshow Strategy:
  • Align with internal and external stakeholders to develop a congress and conference strategy & presence. Overseeing and aligning exhibit presence, brand/marketing messaging, sponsorships and cross-functional tactics and priorities.
  • Manage and oversee team of tradeshow managers and specialists directing the execution of tradeshows, conferences, and related meetings with measured and executed deliverables.
  • Partner with Platform Associate Directors and other cross-functional partners to identify, organize, symposiums, hands-on and other training initiatives at tradeshows and events in alignment with conference and educational strategies.
Sponsorship & Educational Grants:
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with internal teams (ie Professional education, Medical Office, Commercial, Compliance) to ensure grant activities align with company strategy and policies.
  • Laision with external stakeholders (eg. medical societies, academic centers, foundations) regarding grant applications.
  • Oversee a unified sponsorship strategy across Heart Recovery to ensure alignment corporate strategy.
  • Ensure all grants and sponsorship comply with internal policies, federal regulations, and industry codes including transparency and reporting requirements.
People Leadership:
  • Recruit, lead, coach, and mentor a team promoting accountability, collaboration, and growth.
  • Create clear development plans and provide regular performance feedback, recognition, and career guidance.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, team meetings, and employee engagement initiatives to drive morale and alignment.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives to ensure team readiness and cohesion.
Cross Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with Associate Directors for Therapy Platforms, Physician Program Directors, Medical Office, Global Strategic Marketing, and Product Marketing teams.
  • Identify, organize, and collaborate with events team and cross-functional teams to execute national tradeshows & conferences, as well as other meetings, to meet company objectives.
  • Utilize analytic methods to establish/evaluate all related activities, including analysis and recommendation of new opportunities, and adapt processes and strategies, as necessary.
  • Ensure that all customer engagement activities conform to company guidelines and local laws.
  • Adhere to the company's Quality Management System (QMS) as well as domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures.
  • Understand relevant security, privacy, and compliance principles and adhere to the regulations, standards, and procedures that are applicable to the company.
  • Ensure other members of the department follow the QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience preferable in medical affairs, society relations or customer engagement roles in life sciences/medical device field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or work experience.
  • 3+ years in people leadership with proved track record of success.
  • Relevant experience in conference, tradeshow, or event management.
  • Relevant experience in the cardiovascular medical device industry.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Established relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and/or medical societies, academic institutions in the cardiovascular space.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with customers, clinical, medical education, global marketing & sales partners, and generate consensus.
  • Familiarity with Advamed Code of Ethics and other industry standards.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic team-based environment.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks with multiple people while effectively managing competing priorities and still meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively across a wide variety of audiences, both internal and external.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information with employees at all levels daily.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Extensive travel including nights and weekends up to 75%.

The expected base pay range for this position is $151,000.00 to $211,600.00. This position is eligible for a car allowance through the Company's MOTUS program. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees and/or eligible dependents are eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits: Vacation 120 hours per calendar year; Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington 56 hours per calendar year; Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays 13 days per calendar year; Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; Parental Leave 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child; Condolence Leave 30 days for an immediate family member: 5 days for an extended family member; Caregiver Leave 10 days; Volunteer Leave 4 days; Military Spouse Time-Off 80 hours.
