Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Supply Chain Coordinator to implement, oversee, and optimize our supply chain operations. This individual will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement of parts and materials, implementation and management of a robust inventory system, vendor qualification, and oversight of incoming inspection processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, purchasing, and quality control, with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement & Sourcing
- Source, evaluate, and procure components, materials, and equipment needed for production.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and continuity of supply.
- Forecast demand and plan purchasing activities to support production schedules.
- Inventory Management
- Design, implement, and maintain an efficient inventory control system tailored for small volume manufacturing
- Monitor stock levels, track material usage, and manage reorder points to avoid shortages or excesses.
- Establish inventory KPIs (e.g., turnover, accuracy) and ensure regular audits.
- Vendor Qualification & Management
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new vendors based
- Maintain vendor performance metrics and conduct regular supplier reviews.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve quality or delivery issues proactively.
- Work with vendors to ensure mitigation of counterfeit components
- Incoming Inspection & Quality Control
- Develop and maintain procedures for incoming material inspection and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance/Engineering to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Track and manage non-conforming materials, initiate corrective actions, and maintain appropriate records.
- Administrative & Support:
oServe as the main point of contact for all supply chain-related inquiries.
oDocument and maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier information, and inventory transactions.
oCollaborate closely with the Production Manager and Manufacturing Technicians to anticipate material needs and resolve any supply-related issues that may impact the production schedule.
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or materials management role, preferably in a manufacturing or hardware production environment.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in inventory systems and supply chain best practices.
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems
- Understands ITAR limitations
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with ISO standards
- APICS/CPIM or other supply chain certifications.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and supply chain analytics tools.
