1st Shift Forklift Operator
PrideStaff is seeking a skilled 1st Shift Forklift Operator to join a leading Industrial Manufacturing Steel Company in Harrisburg, NC . The ideal candidate has significant experience operating industrial-sized forklifts in challenging, outdoor environments and is comfortable working in a construction setting. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires both operational expertise and the ability to direct a small team.
Responsibilities
Operate an industrial-sized forklift to move and manipulate large, awkward-sized steel loads in an outdoor environment on uneven terrain.
Direct and lead the activities of a team of 2-5 other employees to ensure efficient and safe production.
Prioritize work schedules and allocate manpower effectively to meet production goals.
Prepare soft fabricated steel for the galvanizing process, which includes placing large beams in stands and maneuvering them carefully within tight spaces without causing damage.
Be willing to get "hands-on" and work alongside the team as needed, stepping off the forklift to assist with tasks.
Use a cutting torch to add vent and drain holes in steel as required.
Understand and select appropriate jigs, fixtures, racks, and baskets for different types of materials.
Operate a grinder to remove surface contaminants from steel before galvanizing.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
Proven experience operating industrial-sized forklifts is required.
Must have experience working in a construction or industrial environment, specifically outdoors on uneven terrain, not just in a warehouse.
Proficiency in operating a cutting torch is essential.
Experience leading or directing a small team (3-5 employees) is a must.
The ability to handle and move heavy, awkwardly shaped loads with precision.
A strong work ethic and the willingness to perform manual labor alongside the team.

Location: Harrisburg, NC 28075
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional Saturday work required.
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
