Our client,
A well-established nonprofit organization serving older adults is seeking a Senior Director of Finance to oversee the full scope of its financial operations. This leadership position plays a central role in financial strategy, daily accounting activities, and long-term planning, and reports directly to the Executive VP of Finance/CFO. You'll work closely with senior leadership to guide budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and systems improvements across multiple entities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly and year-end financial closings, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes in partnership with department leaders across the organization
- Monitor financial performance, identify trends, analyze variances, and present findings and recommendations to leadership
- Manage and upgrade accounting software and financial systems; suggest and implement process improvements
- Supervise and mentor the finance and accounting team
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, including Form 990s and PPTs
- Oversee payroll and accounts payable operations
- Lead the annual external audit process, including preparation of consolidated financial statements and footnotes
- Maintain compliance with GAAP, donor restrictions, grant requirements, and debt covenants
- Support internal controls documentation and training; lead system and process improvements
- Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on financial matters and help drive organizational success
- Support insurance renewals and monitor cash flow and forecasting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required (active preferred)
- 7+ years of financial leadership experience
- Strong grasp of GAAP, tax compliance, and nonprofit finance
- Experience with accounting systems and technology upgrades
- Skilled communicator with strong analytical abilities and team leadership experience
- Background in healthcare or public accounting is a plus

The compensation for this position ranges from $150,000.00 - $200,000.00. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual's qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
