A general forklift operator is responsible for safely operating a forklift to transport, load, and unload heavy materials within a warehouse or factory, ensuring proper storage and movement of goods by following established safety procedures, performing pre-shift inspections, and maintaining the equipment's cleanliness while adhering to company policies and regulations.

- Operating Forklift:
Safely maneuvering a forklift to pick up, transport, and place pallets of goods within the warehouse or designated areas. - Loading and Unloading Trucks:
Efficiently loading and unloading cargo from trucks using the forklift. - Inventory Management:
Accurately checking and verifying product quantities while moving inventory within the warehouse. - Storage Organization:
Stacking pallets in designated storage locations, maintaining proper aisle space and warehouse layout. - Pre-shift Inspections:
Performing routine pre-shift checks on the forklift, including fluid levels, lights, brakes, and safety features. - Basic Maintenance:
Reporting any mechanical issues or necessary maintenance to the appropriate personnel. - Following Safety Procedures:
Adhering to all safety regulations regarding forklift operation, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining proper visibility while operating. - Documentation:
Completing necessary paperwork related to inventory tracking, shipment details, and operational logs.
- Valid forklift operator certification
- Experience operating Sit-sown forklifts (depending on the workplace)
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform minor maintenance checks
- Physical ability to sit and stand for extended periods, operate controls, and work in a warehouse environment
