We are seeking an accomplished Assistant Director of Finance to join the leadership team at a prestigious hotel in vibrant downtown Evanston, IL. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional with strong leadership skills to oversee daily accounting operations, guide financial planning, and partner with the executive team to ensure the property's fiscal health. The ideal candidate will be both hands-on and strategic-able to lead a finance team, implement process improvements, and provide insightful analysis that drives profitability and efficiency.
Salary: $64,000 - $69,000 annually
Asst. Director of Finance Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
  • Lead the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and monthly forecasts in partnership with department leaders.
  • Provide timely financial analysis and recommendations to support busi0ness objectives.
  • Monitor cash flow, revenue trends, and expense control to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor finance team members to enhance skills and performance.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring documentation is accurate and readily available.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting procedures.
  • Partner closely with operations and sales teams to assess the financial impact of initiatives.
Asst. Director of Finance Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role-hospitality experience strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Proficiency with financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
