About The Position
Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: IR Technologist Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 2 years License: ARRT Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Neuro Interventional Background preferred Description: Provides high-quality images and conducts sophisticated special procedures using specialized equipment. Ensures optimum clarity for physician diagnosis while minimizing discomfort and radiation exposure to patients. Thoroughly understands the operation of interventional equipment and supplies, as well as radiographic principles. Responsible for film/imaging processing, quality control, and radiation protection. Types of procedures performed include mesenteric angios, cerebral angios, embolizations, carotid stenting, aneurysm repair, and stroke interventions. Other procedures include port a caths, neph tubes, gall bladder drains, vertebroplasty, epidurals, transjugular liver biopsy, Y-90 s, IVC filters, and pleural drains. Utilizes computerized charting and medication dispensing systems. Works independently and is responsible for on-call nights and weekends. There are two Biplane IR suites and one single-plane IR suite. Employee is required to wear hospital-provided scrubs. Orientation and training typically range from 1 to 2 weeks, depending on experience. Nurse to patient ratios are not specified for this unit.
