Mig Welder

The Mig Welder will be responsible for completing welding of prefabricated assemblies, setting up welding machines independently for any process or material thickness, and operating a variety of fabrication equipment such as plate rollers, saws, pipe rollers, and drill presses. This role requires the ability to fabricate and weld complex assemblies from blueprints.

Responsibilities

Complete welding of prefabricated assemblies.

Set up welding machines independently for any process or material thickness.

Operate a variety of fabrication equipment including plate rollers, saws, pipe rollers, and drill presses.

Fabricate and weld complex assemblies from blueprints.

Read and interpret blueprints accurately.

Essential Skills

4+ years of welding experience.

Proficiency in MIG welding (GMAW) and Flux core welding (FCAW).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Experience with stainless steel fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of other fabrication equipment like plate rollers, saws, pipe rollers, and drill presses.

Ability to fabricate complex assemblies unassisted.

Work Environment

Work in a non-climate controlled fabrication shop, which may get hot. The shop is equipped with newer welding and fabrication equipment.

Normal Shift hours: 6am-2:30 Monday - Friday. During peak periods 6am-4:30pm plus Saturdays when needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract to hire position based out of North Charleston, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
