This role is a key contributor to ensuring product quality, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with automotive and internal standards. You'll work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams and be part of a team that values problem-solving, accountability, and ongoing growth.What You'll Do:Key responsibilities may include: Develop, write, and optimize CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, or PolyWorks. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T to create effective inspection routines; balloon drawings per customer or internal standards. Perform and document First Article Inspections (FAI), capability studies, and PPAP submissions. Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot CMM and other precision measurement equipment; design and procure custom fixturing as needed. Conduct dimensional analysis on components, subassemblies, and finished brake systems to ensure compliance with specifications. Lead and manage a team of quality inspectors and technicians across multiple shifts, including training, mentoring, and developing staff in inspection techniques and quality system compliance. Coordinate daily inspection activities, product disposition, and quality hold/release processes. Perform line audits and layered process audits to verify conformance. Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints using root cause analysis (8D, Fishbone, etc.) and lead corrective/preventive actions (CAPA). Ensure compliance with APQP, PPAP, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements. Develop and improve SOPs, control plans, and inspection procedures. Maintain accurate documentation for inspections, calibrations, and quality issues. Support internal and customer audits with traceable, accurate metrology data. Participate in management review meetings, internal audits, and continuous improvement initiatives; facilitate cross-functional problem-solving efforts.What You Bring:We're looking for someone who has: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Technical degree in Metrology, Quality, or Engineering preferred. 3+ years of hands-on CMM programming experience (PC-DMIS required; Zeiss/Calypso a plus). Quality supervision or team lead experience in automotive or precision manufacturing. Strong working knowledge of GD&T, ISO/IATF standards, APQP methodology, calibration systems, control plans, SPC, capability studies, and layered audits. Skilled at reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and CAD models (SolidWorks or similar). Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Minitab. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective leadership, team-building, and coaching abilities; able to manage conflict, drive accountability, and lead with integrity. Skilled at managing multiple priorities and adapting to shifting demands in a fast-paced production environment. Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels. Comfortable working on the plant floor with exposure to hot/cold environments, hands-on tasks, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
