Cnc Machine Operator

The Trident Company has an immediate opening for a CNC Machine Operator in the Tulsa, OK facility. The CNC Machine Operator performs advanced production activities requiring a demonstrated high level of skill and proficiency in material handling, production processes and multiple machine operation acquired through extended experience and training.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Positions work pieces for processing.
  • Operates a combination of different machines to process work by cutting, burning, sawing, blasting, shearing, punching, grinding, bending or pressing.
  • Uses gauges, calipers, squares or rulers for measurement.
  • Determines processing specifications such as materials, cutting tools, location of cutting lines, dimensions, tolerances and operational sequences by reviewing blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions or other written specifications.
  • Installs and aligns specified punches, cutting blades or other fixtures in machine bed using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, or hand tools.
  • Adjusts controls to set cutting speed, depth and feed rates; and diagnoses problems and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Performs quality control inspections on finished product; for ISO-certified locations, performs In Process Quality Inspections.
  • Coordinates and executes material handling of all inventories to be processed including operation of overhead crane.
  • Performs limited preventative maintenance, such as lubrication, cleaning and changing of parts.
  • May train less experienced workers and perform as lead in absence of group leader.
  • May mark identification on material/work pieces before processing.
  • May mark material after processing; store material for additional processing and/or shipping.
  • Restocks material.
  • Completes work order paperwork/documentation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Reading and writing ability in English (to read instructions on tickets and cross-reference drawings, safety and policies manuals).
  • Basic measuring skills to read and convert English and Metric systems.
  • Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience as a machine operator.
  • Experience operating overhead crane preferred.
