Purpose

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for cleaning, preparing, grit blasting, priming, and painting parts and equipment using conventional spray equipment and the PBC Auto blast System.

Essential Job Functions

Review work orders and paint specifications with the Lead to ensure understanding of job requirements. Retrieve parts or equipment for blasting and painting using a forklift, crane, or truck. Prepare workpieces to avoid damage during blasting and priming processes. Operate the PBC Auto blast System to achieve required surface finishes. Mix primers and paints to proper consistency and viscosity. Assemble and connect spray equipment, ensuring proper cleaning and setup of pumps and spray guns. Apply primer and paint using air-assisted spray systems to meet finish requirements. Continuously inspect parts to ensure proper coating application; adjust equipment as needed. Perform minor maintenance and repairs on spray booths, spray guns, and related equipment. Handle and label hazardous waste materials according to company and safety standards. Track paint, thinners, reducers, hardeners, and other materials; notify supervisor when supplies need replenishing. Paint fixtures, racks, trailers, and various maintenance parts as needed. Operate barcode scanners and computers to record labor and material use. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education Required

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required

24 years of experience with: Pressure feed power washers, spray guns, forklifts, cranes, and PBC Auto blast systems. General hand tools and material handling equipment. Familiarity with computers and handheld scanners. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
