Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Project Engineer to join our mechanical construction team in San Jose, California. This role supports the successful execution of HVAC, plumbing, and piping projects across commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. You will work closely with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure all engineering and construction activities meet project goals in terms of cost, schedule, safety, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical construction projects.
Support the development and maintenance of project schedules, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
Analyze mechanical drawings and specifications to ensure constructability and accuracy.
Work with procurement teams to track material deliveries and equipment lead times.
Communicate with subcontractors and vendors to coordinate project tasks and logistics.
Provide technical support to field personnel during installation and startup.
Maintain organized project documentation, including drawings, logs, reports, and correspondence.
Attend job site meetings and contribute to progress reporting and issue resolution.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
2–5 years of experience in mechanical construction or a related discipline.
Familiarity with mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and piping installations.
Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or Revit.
Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Understanding of industry standards, safety protocols, and building codes.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
