Senior Propulsion Design Engineer - Mechanical (On-site in San Francisco) Salary: $130k - $185k + equity A rapidly growing, innovative aerospace company is seeking a Propulsion Design Engineer to join the team in San Francisco. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, analyzing, and validating critical fluidic and mechanical systems for aerospace propulsion hardware. Your work will have a direct and significant impact on the configuration and performance of a new generation of aerospace engines. They operate with a flat organizational structure, fostering a pragmatic and competent workplace culture that prioritizes building world-changing technology at a rapid pace. Key Responsibilities

Lead the detailed design, analysis, and validation of propulsion systems from early prototypes to flight-qualified hardware. Conduct design trade studies, considering system-level impacts and ensuring technical challenges are solved from first principles. Support designs with structural, thermal, and fluid analyses. Present and lead design reviews, soliciting feedback from a small, agile team of experts. Get hands-on by assembling prototypes, designing complementary tooling, and creating work instructions. Conduct hardware testing, analyze performance data, and verify system requirements. Efficiently diagnose hardware problems and determine corrective actions. Key Qualifications

10+ years of experience in a hands-on role with fluidic and mechanical systems, specifically in propulsion or aerospace hardware. A proven track record of taking full ownership of hardware design from concept through to production. Deep expertise in CAD modeling (Siemens NX), GD&T, and drawing generation. A "test-like-you-fly" philosophy and a pragmatic, competent approach to building world-changing technology. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, flat organizational structure. Interested?
