In addition, the Nurse Manager provides direct patient care and on-call response to victims of sexual assault. The Nurse Manager works closely with CNHP administration, the Program Director and the Medical Director to ensure high quality medical and forensic examination process and documentation consistent with guidelines set by Drexel University, the International Association of Forensic Nurses and other guideline entities.Essential FunctionsProgram ManagementSupervise and oversee all clinical operation and staff personnel mattersMaintain full clinical staffing through hiring, training of new staff, and retention of existing clinical staffOversee in conjunction with program director the clinical scheduling processEnsure compliance, continuing education, and licensing requirements for clinical staff are metPlan and implement an annual clinical training schedule and serve as a resource as clinical expert to staff and those outside the agencyPerform annual review & competencies for clinical staffCoordinate and manage all clinical nurse preceptorships/orientationsConduct billing for all services via the PA-Victims Compensation Assistance ProgramsAssist with patient follow-up efforts , including communications regarding prescriptions and aftercare, toxicology results, evidence destruction, and referrals as neededPrepare clinical staff for fact and expert witness testimonyProvide feedback and quality improvement reviews of medical forensic recordsPerform quality improvement on clinical procedures/operations including lab complianceRepresent PSARC in coalitions, grants, project teams, and other meetingsServe as administrative link between the College and PSARCProvide back-up on-call coverage in the event of clinical staffing shortages or emergenciesProvide, in conjunction with program director, on-call supervision of programmatic or nurse needs during patient care services or agency requestsMaintenance and ordering of medical supplies, including pharmaceuticalsCollaborate with finance department to maintain fiscal needs and oversight, including grant complianceParticipate and seek outside funding opportunities to support and grow PSARC missionCollaborate with outside partners such as advocacy groups, Philadelphia District Attorney and Philadelphia Special Victims UnitMaintenance and annual updates of the PSARC Policies and Procedures manualOther duties as assignedClinical - Forensic Nurse ExaminerProvide medical-forensic care to victims of sexual assault through direct patient careTestify as a fact witness to any/all cases performed while employed with PSARC, even if no longer employed with PSARC and/or for those cases in which PSARC colleague is unable to attendMaintain expertise as an FNE through continuing education, engagement with professional community, and review of current research and literatureObtain specialty nursing certification (SANE-A Certification) after two years of clinical experienceMaintain professional standards that do not create conflict of interests with employment or patient careRequired QualificationsMinimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experienceActive Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the state of PennsylvaniaLegal authorization to work in the United StatesCompletion of an IAFN Approved 40-hour Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) trainingExperience working with crime victims and/or marginalized communitiesBackground/experience in medical forensic careSANE-A Certification (or commitment to test at the next testing window)Clear understanding of the dynamics of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and other types of violenceComfort with technology and electronic medical recordsAbility to work independently and exercise professional judgmentAbility to relate to a diverse group of professionals and stakeholdersAbility to travel in the Philadelphia metropolitan area by personal car or public transportationPreferred QualificationsMaster of Science in NursingClinical management experience with direct reportsEnglish/Spanish speaking a plusPhysical DemandsTypically sitting at a desk/tableTypically standing, walkingTypically bending, crouching, stoopingLocationOther - Philadelphia, PAAdditional InformationThis position is classified as Exempt, grade M. Compensation for this grade ranges from $ 75,200.00 to $ 112,790.00 per year.
