Description

As a Laborer, you will work under the direction of the Foreman and perform a variety of construction-related tasks. This includes heavy lifting, digging, equipment cleaning, site preparation, pipe system assembly, and operating construction tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities • Digging, spreading and leveling dirt, sand and gravel using a pick, shovel or rake. • Lift, carry and hold construction materials, tools and supplies. • Clean tools, equipment, materials and work area. • Mix, pour and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel and other materials using hand tools. • Join, wrap and seal sections of pipe. • Perform a variety of routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, placing pipe sections in trench and assembling sections of pipe. • Perform a variety of machine tasks such as tapping soil, jack hammering and assisting in the excavation of pipe. • Must be able to climb on, off, and under various pieces of equipment, and physically access all parts of equipment to perform job requirements. • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety Manager. • Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Qualifications and Education Requirements: • Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred • One (1) year of heavy civil construction experience preferred • Must be able to travel if needed • A valid driver's license • Must be willing to travel in and around South/Central Florida

Physical Requirements: • Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature. • Must be able to physically lift and carry up to 100 lbs. • Must be able to climb on, off, and under various pieces of equipment, and physically access all parts of equipment to perform job requirements. • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers. Ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials.
