Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Material Handler with stand up forklift experience. The Material Handler is responsible to keep all production machines (presses, laminators and extruder) supplied with film to run jobs that are on their schedules. This position will be on our 2nd shift, 7pm-7am.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
• Keep production machines supplied with film
• Remove finished product to next staging area
• Return raw film to racks in warehouse
• Keep empty skids supplied at machines for jobs being produced
• Able to drive various tow motors
• Strap end boards, return to warehouse
• Strap core plugs, return to warehouse
• Organizational skills
• Change glue totes when empty
• Safety awareness while on tow motor
• Keep work area clean and safe
• Able to extract information from computer
• Print roll labels and attach to raw film (when needed)
• Complete Forklift/Pallet jack inspection sheet weekly
• Must comply with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP's) and any job or department specific SOP's.
o SOP's may cover the areas of (but are not limited to)
§ Employee Health and Safety
§ SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured.
§ SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP's.

Requirements
Qualifications:
• Able to earn and maintain forklift operation certification
• Able to obtain high lift certification and safely operate high-reach lift
• Able to safely operate various tow motors (sit down, high-reach, etc.)
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry
• Basic reading
• Basic math skills
• Ability to read ruler, tape measure
• Usage of common tools (hammer, screwdriver, etc.)
• Communicate well with other employees
• Use of sharp tools (razor safety knife)
• Use of hoists
• Interpret and understand written information (schedules)
Physical Demands:
• Able to lift up to 70 lbs (intermittently)
• Frequent sitting on forklift
• Bending and stooping for strapping of skids, rolls (intermittently)
• Twisting of neck and back to safely operate forklift (intermittently)
• Stepping/climbing on and off of tow motor (intermittently)
• Walking, pushing, pulling for use of pallet jack (intermittently)
• Ability to see and hear effectively to perform essential job functions safely.
Working Conditions:
• Work in a manufacturing environment around machinery.
• Pedestrian awareness while on tow motor
• Overtime as required
• Must be able to wear following PPE correctly
o Back belt
o Steel toe shoes
o Hearing protection
o Safety glasses
o Hairnets and beard nets
