We are seeking a

Human Resources Manager

to join our team and steward the growth, development, and care of our people. This individual will lead HR functions with excellence, ensuring alignment with Biblical principles, organizational values, and legal requirements.

Responsibilities include:

Employee Relations & HR Operations

• Serve as primary HR contact for managers and staff, providing guidance and support for employee relations, performance management, compliance, and sensitive investigations, ensuring fair and legally sound outcomes.

• Ensure consistent administration of HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.

• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HRIS data.

Staffing & Onboarding

• Manage recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes in partnership with hiring managers, and provide strategic input on workforce planning to ensure organizational alignment.

• Conduct exit interviews and provide analysis to leadership.

Compensation & Job Grading

• Administer FCBH's job grading and compensation systems for staff and overseas independent contractors, including reviewing and maintaining job descriptions, grading positions, and validating recommendations from automated workflows to ensure fairness, consistency, and alignment with ministry principles.

Culture, Training, and Development

• Promote staff wellness and organizational culture by developing initiatives such as staff gatherings, wellness programs, and engagement activities that foster fellowship, resilience, morale, and a mission-aligned workplace.

• Develop and manage ministry-wide training resources and facilitate training sessions for managers and staff to support continuous development and consistent organizational practices.

Crisis Management & Travel Safety Oversight

• Oversee organizational crisis management and travel safety protocols by maintaining the Crisis Management Plan, ensuring staff and leadership are trained and equipped with appropriate tools, and providing HR oversight for sensitive travel requests in alignment with FCBH guidelines.

Compensation & Benefits Support

• Partner with the Payroll & Benefits Manager on payroll and benefits functions; serve as back-up approver when needed.

• Assist CAO with annual compensation reviews, insurance renewals, and broader compensation strategy to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or relevant equivalent experience.

• 5+ years of professional experience in HR or a related field, with demonstrated ability to manage compliance requirements, organizational policies, and staff-facing responsibilities.

• Working knowledge of employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, ACA, EEO, etc.).

• HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to work with HR data, AI tools, automated workflows, and systems to support effective HR practices.

Preferred

• Experience in Christian nonprofit or missions environment.

• Experience with crisis management protocols or travel risk management.

• Advanced HR certification (SPHR or SHRM-SCP).
