You Can Vote (YCV) is a North Carolina 501(c)3 nonpartisan nonprofit. YCV envisions a fully representative democracy that strives for equality and justice for all North Carolinians. Our team educates and mobilizes North Carolinians to take civic action, know their rights, and successfully cast a ballot in each election.
You Can Vote seeks a dynamic, creative, experienced and organized individual to serve as Campaign Manager to help YCV educate, organize, and implement nonpartisan advocacy and voter engagement.
The Eastern NC Campaign Manager will oversee public engagement efforts to reach
voters through partnerships, events, actions, resource distribution, and direct voter contact and will work closely with YCV staff to develop and refine regional based strategies.
The Eastern NC Campaign Manager is an exempt, full-time position that reports to and works closely with the Deputy Director. This position is based in Wake or Johnson Counties, and will travel to Eastern NC counties on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the manager for Eastern NC counties to oversee public engagement and create partnerships to increase the reach of YCV's fact-based election information and resources. Identify, recruit, train and manage regional volunteers and partners to ensure their success in carrying out YCV's nonpartisan voter Voting Rights Ambassador program to be kicked off in 2026. Organize and lead training, days of action, resource distribution and outreach events with partners. Collaborate with YCV leadership to develop and execute partnership strategies, outreach plans, and tactics. Build and nurture long-term, trust-based relationships with partners through proactive communication, problem-solving, and re-training and communication support. Respond and adapt quickly to changes in protocols based on new information or regulations. Work collaboratively with community organizations and coalition partners and assist advocates in designing and completing voter contact outreach activities. Track outreach metrics to evaluate the success and inform strategic decision-making. Represent the organization at public events. Travel is required within the assigned region to conduct outreach, training and events. A mobile office for transportation will be provided. You will spend up to 50% of your time in your local region (Wake/Johnston) and up to 50% of your time working in the counties within your region for events, meetings, and ongoing support for partners. Direct other staff, contractors and fellows as needed. Available during weekends to oversee events. Remain 100% nonpartisan while representing YCV. Other duties as assigned. Essential Skills
The ability to build strong relationships, convey ideas clearly, and foster trust with both internal and external stakeholders. The capacity to align partner capabilities with YCV's program goals and identify mutually beneficial opportunities. Valid NC Drivers license Strong public speaking, command of a room (or a Zoom), ability to talk with a diverse range of ages, experiences, and geography. Strong project management, including weekly and monthly check-ins with internal and external stakeholders. Skills Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of three years developing and oversee implementation of issue-based, civic and/or voter engagement project management.
Excellent project management and organizational skills; detail-oriented and proactive. Ability to work independently and adapt to changing environments as YCV complies with a shifting election landscape, both in voter access and in public trust. Experience managing campaigns, from power mapping regional partners, approaching new partners, to designing a campaign to evaluate impact, and utilizing feedback to implement improvements. Proficiency in Google Workspace and EveryAction Team player who is passionate about building a nonpartisan campaign for long-term civic involvement. Comfort with teaching voter contact technology, including predictive dialer, virtual meetings. Comfort with educating people of various skill levels. Prioritizes tasks on a daily and weekly schedule, monitoring deadlines and collaborates with YCV team to ensure project completion. Knowledge about the voting and elections process, and strong understanding of democracy reform issues like money in politics reform, redistricting reform, and voting access for North Carolinians; or the ability and willingness to quickly come up to speed on these issues. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; data-driven and impact-oriented. Quick-witted, and brings a sense of humor, while scaling this regional program.
Salary: Exempt - Full-time
$68,000-$78,000 depending on experience
