Job Overview: A growing law firm based in Raleigh, North Carolina is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to handle professional license defense and administrative law matters. This position is ideal for a self-motivated litigator who enjoys client interaction, courtroom work, and being part of a collaborative, non-traditional legal team. Attorneys in this role will represent clients in settlement conferences, hearings, and investigations, primarily before licensing boards and state agencies. Candidates with a desire to grow in a niche and impactful legal field are encouraged to apply. Location: Duties: Represent clients in contested case hearings before licensing boards, state agencies, and the Office of Administrative Hearings Attend settlement conferences, Superior Court appeals, and investigator interviews Conduct legal research and prepare detailed legal strategies Draft legal pleadings, motions, affidavits, and settlement agreements Manage client communications and maintain up-to-date case files Develop and present legal theories during hearings and conferences Serve as lead attorney on assigned matters after a probationary and training period Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff for efficient case resolution Deliver a high-quality client experience, emphasizing responsiveness and empathy Requirements: Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school Licensed and in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar Valid driver’s license for in-state travel to hearings and client meetings Experience or strong interest in professional licensing or administrative law Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities Highly organized, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented Proficiency with Google Drive and law firm management software Comfortable using Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams Ability to handle multiple matters and prioritize competing tasks Client-focused with strong interpersonal skills Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution Certifications: Active license to practice law in North Carolina Discretionary quarterly bonus Health insurance (after 6 months) Paid holidays and paid time off (after 6 months) Hybrid remote work flexibility after 60 days Supportive work environment with growth opportunities in an underserved legal practice area Company info
