ATCS is seeking a highly motivated, multi-faceted Senior Traffic Engineer to join our growing team!
This is a hybrid role with three days per week required onsite in one of our ATCS offices.
We are considering candidates based out of Herndon or Richmond, VA, Baltimore, MD or Raleigh, NC. Responsibilities: Apply broad knowledge of transportation engineering principles and techniques to improve transportation systems' efficiency, reliability, resilience, and safety. Analyze and document findings in technical memos, project reports, and research summaries. Utilize Excel, Synchro, VISSIM, HSM, ISATe, Cube, and other traffic operation applications to analyze systems and propose improvements. Prepare traffic design plans for signals, signs, pavement markings, lighting, and ITS devices using Microstation or AutoCAD. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a relevant field. PE license is required; PTOE is a plus. 8+ years of relevant experience. Self-initiative to solve problems and stay updated on traffic engineering innovations. Ability to complete assignments with high quality, on time, and within budget. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Demonstrated technical competency in traffic engineering and transportation planning related to safety, design, and operations. Additional Requirements: Experience with ITS technology is a plus. Experience with safety analysis techniques is preferred. Proficiency with Microstation and AutoCAD is preferred. Experience in traffic studies, microsimulation networks, and transportation data analysis is desired. Project management experience is a plus. Our employees are the most critical part of ATCS. We offer a competitive salary range of $88,000 to $133,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. The role is eligible for an annual bonus (target 2%).
