These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner, following the mission, values, and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and guests.
Duties and Responsibilities : Responsible for the tracking, coordination and communication of patient referrals Assembles information concerning patient’s clinical background and referral needs. Contacts insurance companies to ensure verification of benefits and prior authorization approval requirements are met as needed. Reviews details and expectation of referral with the potential patient. Assists patients in problem solving potential issues related financial or social barriers (e.g., request interpreters as appropriate, transportation services, etc.) Ensures that referrals are addressed in a timely manner.• Reminds patients of scheduled appointment. Communication with referral sources to ensure patient information/ registration is complete. Communicates patient updates between program and referring source Greets all patients and families in an enthusiastic, sensitive and supportive manner, while understanding the importance of service excellence. Organizes and sends out visit notes and results to third party referral sources. Answers incoming phone calls as necessary and provides information to caller according to departmental guidelines. Enthusiastically answers general patient and guest inquiries. Provide support and/or relief coverage as needed. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge : High School Diploma required. Skills : Good oral and written communication skills required. Previous experience with data entry on a computer system preferred. Must have excellent organizational skills required. Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology preferred. Previous customer service and or education preferred. Abilities : Ability to provide excellent customer service at all times, particularly with more difficult patients required. Ability to multi-task required. Ability to work independently as well as be a leader in the team environment required. Benefits : Paid Sick Time - effective 90 days after employment. Paid Vacation Time - effective 90 days after employment. Health, vision & dental benefits - eligible at 30 days, following the 1st of the following month.
