The City of Berkeley invites applications for the position of Public Health Nurse in the Health, Housing & Community Services Department. In this role, you will provide a range of public health nursing services to individuals or families in various settings. Your responsibilities include utilizing nursing intervention skills to prevent disease, promote healthful behavior, and address conditions affecting the health and safety of individuals, families, and the community. The Public Health Division aims to promote healthy environments, prevent illness and injury, protect against emerging health threats, eliminate health inequities, and advocate for social and environmental justice. The division comprises doctors, nurses, clinicians, health educators, program administrators, analysts, support staff, volunteers, and other dedicated individuals committed to delivering effective and innovative programs that ensure community health and well-being. One year of nursing experience. Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in California. Valid California State Public Health Nursing Certificate. Valid California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. Willingness to work evenings or weekends. Bilingual or bicultural skills may be required for some positions.
