$4,858 to $5,918 per month (SR-20, Step D to I).

IV Level:

$5,258 to $6,399 per month (SR-22, Step D to I).

Auditors are responsible for examining accounts to render an opinion on the financial position and operations of governmental agencies, individuals, and business entities. The work requires sound accounting judgment and adherence to generally accepted auditing standards and principles.

Auditor Level III

performs moderately difficult professional auditing work, including examining smaller agencies or specific aspects of larger agencies, assisting higher-level auditors, and other duties as assigned.

Auditor Level IV

performs complex professional auditing, including independently conducting field audits of governmental and business records, supervising lower-level auditors, and other related duties.

levels for which they qualify.

To qualify, you must meet all of the following:

Legal Authorization to Work:

The State of Hawaii requires all applicants to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the U.S., or eligible for unrestricted employment under federal law.

Basic Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with at least 12 semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing.

Specialized Experience:

Two years for Level III and three years for Level IV of professional auditing experience applying accepted accounting and auditing principles.

Driver's License:

Some vacancies require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.

Special Requirement for Department of Transportation, Airports Division:

Federal Criminal History Records Check, with restrictions on convictions within the past 10 years, is required for positions with unescorted access to secured airport areas. The applicant bears the cost.
