The Chicago office of Milliman Inc. is seeking qualified candidates to join their Financial Risk Management (FRM) practice.

The Department/Team

We are a team of over 60 actuaries specializing in equity-based insurance guarantees, providing advanced analytics for strategic and risk management decisions.

Your Role/What You’ll Do:

Design and implement dynamic hedging programs for equity guarantee risk management.

Perform financial reporting for Variable Annuities, including GAAP and Statutory valuation.

Conduct due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, reviewing assumptions, risks, and operations of annuity businesses.

Build stochastic models for risk-based capital analysis.

Evaluate exotic derivatives for risk reduction.

Price and develop new financial products.

Collaborate with non-actuarial teams to enhance models and automation platforms.

Communicate with clients to understand needs and present work.

Develop innovative solutions and seek business growth opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science or similar.

ASA designation and actively pursuing FSA.

Minimum of two years of actuarial experience (excluding internships).

Desired Skills:

Experience with actuarial modeling in life insurance, risk management, or investments.

Understanding of capital markets and finance concepts.

Proficiency in Excel and VBA; knowledge of SQL, C++, C# is a plus.

Experience with actuarial software is advantageous.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Self-motivated with curiosity and a results-oriented mindset.

Excellent communication and decision-making skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Location & Application Deadline

Position based in Chicago, IL. Application deadline: July 31, 2025. Flexible in-office work arrangements available.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $101,420 - $172,480, based on experience and qualifications.
