Our clients come to us for results, quality and craft - and stay because we keep raising the bar.
We do things differently at Lateral
Our mission is simple:
design and build great products .
What sets us apart isnt just the talent of our team - its
the way we work:
We Have A Bias For Action & Results.
We are doers - we spot the gaps, connect the dots, anticipate whats around the corner and take action. We move fast, stay focused, and let the results - not the effort - speak for themselves.
We Work On Time, On Budget, On Quality
Discipline is our edge - a commitment we make to each other, to our clients, and to the standards we hold ourselves to.

Were Obsessed With Agility, Not The Agile Manifesto
We dont chase dogma or rituals - we chase momentum. We adapt processes to fit problems, not the other way around.
We Take Ownership
Everyone leads something here. You will have room to run with ideas, and the trust to execute. That trust is built on how you show up: thinking things through, sweating the details, and following through.
What Youll Do
As a
Technical Project Manager
at Lateral, youll drive clarity, alignment, and progress across complex initiatives, ensuring that business goals translate into technical outcomes. You will:
Lead Program Delivery Across Multiple Workstreams: Youll coordinate teams across time zones, aligning stakeholders, schedules, priorities, and dependencies to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget. Youll spot blockers early, escalate smartly, and drive resolution. Act as a Trusted Partner to Clients and Internal Teams: Youll be the technical point of contact for client stakeholders, building trusted relationships through transparency, clarity, and follow-through. Translate Vision into Execution: Youll own the tactical implementation of strategic initiatives. Working closely with architects, and engineers, youll turn high-level goals into actionable plans with clear milestones, success metrics, and ownership. Facilitate Alignment, Visibility & Collaboration: Youll run effective standups, retros, and steering meetings. Youll ensure the right people are involved at the right time, decisions are documented, and communication is crisp, whether async or live. Drive Continuous Improvement: You wont just manage timelines; youll help improve how we deliver. From implementing tooling and dashboards to refining agile practices and release cadences, youll help teams level up. Lead Through Influence, Not Control: Youll bring structure, youll inspire accountability, offer guidance, and remove roadblocks helping teams do their best work while upholding our standards of quality and care.
How We Measure Success In This Role
In the first two weeks
Youve built rapport with key stakeholders. Youve reviewed project scopes and have mapped out delivery risks and opportunities. Youve established your preferred rituals for communication and visibility.
In the first 3 months:
Youre driving two or more client-facing programs effectively. Youve created clear roadmaps, aligned stakeholders, and proactively addressed blockers. Youve identified areas to streamline delivery processes and suggested improvements.
After 3 months:
Youre seen as a go-to for delivery clarity and cross-functional coordination. Your programs are tracking to plan or youve renegotiated scope and timelines smartly when needed. Youre contributing to internal best practices, mentoring peers, and influencing how we manage complexity at scale.
We measure success through:
On-time and on-budget delivery Client and stakeholder satisfaction Team feedback and velocity trends Quality of planning, communication, and decision-making Ability to manage ambiguity and align multiple teams
What Were Looking For
Were looking for thoughtful operators with both business sense and technical fluency. You must bring:
7+ years of experience in technical program or delivery management roles within software/tech consulting environments Technical background or hands-on experience in software development Proven success managing complex, multi-team, and multi-stakeholder programs Experience working closely with engineering, design, and business stakeholders Strong client-facing communication skills and a knack for turning complexity into clarity High EQ, low ego - you thrive on collaboration, not control Comfort with remote work, asynchronous tools, and distributed teams Structured problem-solving skills and a bias for action
Bonus points for:
Experience with consulting or professional services environments
Why Youll Love Working Here
Real Impact: Youll work on meaningful products that make a measurable difference - from healthcare and commerce to sustainability and next-gen tech. Remote-First, Office Friendly: Work from wherever youre most productive - whether thats your home, a co-working space, or one of our offices. Were a remote-first company, but if youre near an office, youre welcome to drop in, collaborate in person, or work onsite regularly.
We prioritize async collaboration, respect your time zone, and focus on outcomes over hours.
An Outstanding Team: Talented, kind, and hard-working people who care deeply about their craft - and about each other. No egos. No politics. Just professionals doing their best work. Growth: Youll be supported in growing your craft, exploring new paths, and stepping into greater responsibility - at your own pace A Culture of Excellence: We care deeply about doing the right thing - for our clients, our team, and ourselves. No burnout. No crunch. Just high-quality work, delivered sustainably. Variety & Stability: Were profitable, independent, and over a decade strong. Yet every project brings a fresh challenge. Youll never be bored here.
This Role Might Not Be for You
We want to respect your time by being clear about what this role isnt. You should skip this opportunity if:
You prefer well defined structure. If you gravitate towards a clear hierarchy, well defined roles and swim lanes, you may find our self-managed style challenging. Distributed work isnt your thing. If you find async communication, design documentation and being proactive without a manager nearby difficult, our setup wont suit you. Feedback doesn't excite you. Were obsessed with quality and believe in continuous improvement. That means we give feedback thats sometimes nitpicky. If refining the work until its excellent feels over the top, you are likely going to find working here frustrating. Change makes you uncomfortable. Were scaling and maturing. That means not everything is perfect yet. Priorities shift. Processes evolve. If ambiguity is uncomfortable, this may feel bumpy.
However, If this sounds like fuel, wed love to talk!
