Anesthesia Technician

Job Summary: To clean, prepare for sterilization, assemble, store, dispense, and maintain equipment and supplies for the anesthesia department. Assist in direct patient care under the supervision of physicians or allied health personnel. Essential Responsibilities: Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable laws. Assembles basic anesthesia setup and equipment, and manages turnover. Provides supplies needed for anesthesia procedures. Prepares anesthesia procedure trays as requested. Removes and disposes of supplies and equipment following procedures. Maintains stock of supplies in anesthesia machines, carts, and emergency carts. Performs cleaning, sterilization, and decontamination of anesthesia-related items. Coordinates patient monitoring and equipment availability with PACU and Critical Care Units. Assists with invasive monitoring equipment setup in routine and emergency situations. Assists with patient transport and preparation for surgery. Supports anesthesia providers during induction and other procedures. Picks up and delivers lab specimens and ABGs. Prepares for patient transport to PACU/ICU. Coordinates with Environmental Services and Pharmacy for OR turnaround and stock management. Prepares and processes anesthesia-related items for sterilization. Maintains inventory levels and inspects equipment for damage. Ensures backup monitoring equipment is available and records equipment checks. Participates in training new employees and promotes customer service excellence.
