The Role: The Clinical Supervisor at One Family Illinois is responsible for supervision, oversight, and direction of the Clinical Therapy team at all One Family Illinois Villages and the In Home Family Services provided through our CASA Tepeyac site, in a manner that effectively utilizes these resources and meets all contractual requirements, as well as the needs of program clients. The Clinical Supervisor oversees and coordinates an array of treatment modalities provided to assigned clients, including the provision of individual, group, and family therapy.
The Clinical Supervisor provides supervision, leadership and direction to assigned clinicians; clinical services, in-home family services, to ensure appropriate therapy and behavioral health services are provided to assigned clients in assigned programs. They are expected to coordinate with appropriate 3rd party providers; provide training on clinical issues as needed to other employees; and conduct clinical supervision and leadership organization-wide.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Knowledge of DCFS and COA standards of care; and corporate compliance standards of ethical practice. Will oversee clinical documentation to ensure it is timely, accurate, well written, and meets all internal and external standards to ensure clinical records will not result in audit deficiencies or financial paybacks. The Director of Behavioral Health will track, review, and sign off on assessments and other clinical documentation.
Establish and maintain the mission of One Family Illinois by identifying societal and community needs; advocating the agencys philosophy both internally and externally; and assisting in the development of program goals and objectives. Coordinates formal relationships with outside providers to ensure quality services, including creation and monitoring of all subcontractor agreements.
Maintain the stability and reputation of the organization by complying with legal and accreditation/certification requirements; working with officials of funding agencies and related service agencies; budgeting and controlling expenses; able to work with Medicaid billing requirements; and assisting needed in fundraising activities.
Actively collaborate with Village leadership, case management, and Foster Parents to promote communication and coordination of Behavioral Health Services. Develop systems and structures that ensure the highest quality of care is developed and maintained.
Maintain and develop staff by supervising directly or through delegation the therapeutic team, including interviewing, onboarding, transferring, promoting, disciplining, counseling, coaching, providing training opportunities, evaluating, and terminating with the guidance of the H.R. Department.
Manage clinical intern program; liaison with Academic institutions to promote One Family Illinois as a preferred internship opportunity. Interview, onboard, supervise, and evaluate Masters level clinical interns. Oversee interview and placement of Bachelor level clinical/case management interns.
Maintain agency operations by providing for the formulation and oversight of program goals.
Promote positive agency image by presenting program services to the community; publicizing accomplishments of the agency, and adhering to a professional code of ethics.
Maintain and enhance own professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and seminars; reviewing professional publications; and establishing professional networks.
Develop and maintain esprit de corps by modeling appropriate team behavior and utilizing opportunities to promote team work. Create and distribute monthly Client Caseload list; ensure the accurate initial assessment for all One Family Illinois clients and assign cases to appropriate Behavioral Health staff and interns within established timeframes.
Manage 24 hour on-call Behavioral Health Services team; respond to and support on-call staff as needed. Assist Village staff to appropriately respond and resolve with crisis issues as they arise.
Maintain complete, accurate and confidential clinical progress notes and files on all One Family Illinois clients and families.
Provide consultation to foster and biological parents of clients and case managers to ensure adequate understanding of the therapeutic needs of the child.
Will be responsible for budgetary goals within department.
Network with appropriate agencies and professionals to assure proper and timely referral to community resources.
Provide consultation and training surrounding behavior management techniques.
Schedule quarterly foster parent conferences to review the status of the therapeutic goals.
Collaborate with the One Family Illinois case managers & supervisors, DCFS, school personnel, court personnel, psychologist, psychiatrists and medical physicians.
Prepare quarterly reports for clients, ACRs and Court reports as required by DCFS and One Family Illinois.
Provide written reports on behalf of One Family Illinois clients to various outside agencies for the purpose of funding, eligibility and reimbursable services.
Prepare for and attend required case meetings and staffing.
Provide clinical and professional supervision (leadership) to unlicensed therapeutic staff and social work intern staff.
Review, develop and implement treatment and termination plans.
Analyze, evaluate and develop Behavioral Health Services goals and outcome measures.
Prepare and submit reports as required by Chief Operating Officer (or Deputy Director).
Develop workshops and presentations to address the needs of One Family Illinois clients, Foster Parents and the community.
Responsible for all aspects of Medicaid within agency.
Comply with all One Family Illinois policies, state, federal, county and city laws, rules and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES:
Review and sign all IM-CANS assessments before submission.
Attend required staff meetings, agency meetings, supervision and other meetings as requested.
Participate in ongoing professional development workshops and seminars as required by the organization and other governing bodies.
Analyze client needs and adheres to Federal and State statutory requirements and American Psychological Association (APA) standards. Approve and evaluate treatment models for counselors. Routinely assess treatment plans and measures the effectiveness of the desired outcome.
Review and utilizes client data reports; attend quality improvement meetings; analyze attainment of program goals and objectives; provide guidance to staff through formal and informal communication means; analyze and revise residential curricula on a periodic basis to reflect innovations in the field.
Design and manage therapeutic program development; attend case reviews and staff meetings
Direct and participate in long- and short-range planning and goal setting; evaluate and revise plans and goals as program needs change.
Direct the preparation and maintenance of procedures, forms, and controls.
When required, represent the program and maintain contacts with federal, state, and local government organizations, other current and potential funding sources, other human services and advocacy organizations, community groups, and the public.
Assist in strategizing and implementing ongoing advocacy efforts aimed at maintaining and/or developing services.
Oversee selection, work assignment and evaluation, and training and professional development of the program staff. Provides guidance to the Trainer/QI on appropriate training topics based on the staff training needs.
Review program operations and procedures for cost effectiveness, efficiency, and goal achievement.
Maintain an appropriate caseload of clients to be determined by COO.
Prepare a variety of written reports, correspondence, procedures, and similar materials.
Schedule staff consultations within the therapeutic team at regular intervals, evaluating all activities and assessing training needs.
Cultivate active relationships with community agencies and network with other community resources.
Perform other duties as necessary for the successful operation of the program.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Masters of Social Work from an accredited program, or relevant Masters Degree, and a minimum of three years experience in clinical practices. Supervisory experience preferred.
An LCSW or LCPC.
Certified in administration of IM-CANS, or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
Valid Illinois drivers license with an acceptable driving record and insured and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass the required DCFS criminal background check, including child abuse and sexual offender registry.
Ability to work with DCFS, courts, and other social service systems.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organization and coordination skills.
Sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of clients and staff.
Ability to relate to the clients and staff and to the public in a courteous and professional manner.
Reliable, punctual, and able to manage multiple tasks.
Ability to work in a tobacco and alcohol, and drug-free environment.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials.
Must meet minimum standards for mental health professional as defined by state regulations.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local residential childcare facility, mental health, substance abuse, and dual diagnosis statutes and regulations; community resources; and social service program.
Demonstrated appropriate decision-making skills without direct supervision.
Ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
Knowledge of mental health, substance abuse, and dual diagnostic treatment philosophies and modalities required.
Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing personnel administration and government funding.
Ability to plan, organize, control, coordinate, direct and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures that are necessary to maintain a sound organization.
Ability to work flexible hour.
