A well-established law firm is seeking a
Remote Immigration Attorney licensed in Puerto Rico
to join its dynamic and growing immigration practice. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys looking to manage a diverse caseload while working remotely. The position focuses on
removal defense, family-based immigration,
and
USCIS applications . The role offers career advancement and collaboration with a supportive legal team of attorneys and legal assistants.
Location: Duties:
Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals
Prepare legal strategies and guide clients and witnesses through USCIS testimony and court appearances
Handle a diverse caseload of immigration applications, including I-130, I-485, I-601A, waivers, and family-based petitions
Conduct legal analysis and prepare immigration legal briefs, motions, and filings
Review client-submitted applications and documents to ensure accuracy and compliance
Conduct intakes, including with detained individuals in centers
Advise and communicate with clients during strategy meetings and consultations
Present to law enforcement, community-based organizations, or prosecutorial offices regarding changes in immigration law
Collaborate with legal support staff to ensure efficient case progress and resolution
Requirements:
3–5 years of experience practicing immigration law
Prior experience representing clients in EOIR proceedings and USCIS matters
Ability to manage a full caseload independently
Must reside in Puerto Rico or be familiar with the jurisdictional requirements
Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school
Certifications:
Active bar license in Puerto Rico and in good standing
Additional bar admissions in the U.S. are a plus
Skills:
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong legal research, analysis, and drafting capabilities
High emotional intelligence and ability to work with vulnerable populations
Experience using legal case management software
Collaborative team mindset and willingness to assist fellow attorneys
