3-8 years of experience is ideal (to mold and grow within the team), but we will consider a 10+ years (non-jumpy) solid candidate. Risk Experience is a huge plus but not mandatory. The contractor must have strong programming skills. If the candidate is junior, they must have an interest in finance. Required skills include C# GUI/S.S. with some Java , strong multi-threading, and Web services - XML and JMS are a big plus because there may be projects building out GUI. Summary: The main function of a developer is to develop, create, and modify Trading Systems. A typical developer is responsible for designing applications or customizing applications for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. Job Responsibilities: Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility within time and cost constraints. Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met. Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications. Obtain and evaluate information on reporting formats, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration. Skills: Strong knowledge of Trading Systems development. Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software. Basic knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in producing drawings and models.
