Overview Litigation Paralegal

- Family Law - Boston, MA. We are currently seeking a Litigation Paralegal for a well-established law firm in Boston, MA. The role involves supporting attorneys in various aspects of family law litigation, such as divorce proceedings, child custody cases, property division, and marital agreements. The ideal applicant will have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with a strong preference for those with a background in family law. This is a direct hire opportunity offering up to 95k (based on experience), for a standard 40-hour work week. The role requires onsite presence at the firm\'s Boston office five days a week.

Responsibilities

Provide thorough support to attorneys throughout all phases of family law litigation, including matters involving divorce, child custody, asset division, and marital agreements.

Act as a central liaison with courts, clients, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses to ensure clear and timely communication.

Maintain well-organized and current electronic case files and legal documentation.

Perform legal research, manage attorney calendars, monitor critical court deadlines, and facilitate communication between attorneys and clients.

Prepare and edit legal forms, pleadings, and court filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with formatting guidelines.

Handle court filings and service of process, both electronically and in person, as needed.

Assist with the discovery process by gathering, reviewing, and producing relevant documents.

Support trial preparation by organizing pleadings, creating trial binders and exhibit sets, and assisting attorneys with preparations for depositions, hearings, and settlement negotiations.

Provide administrative and legal assistance to multiple attorneys in a high-volume, fast-paced family law environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and Paralegal Certificate are preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in family law or litigation; experience with high-net-worth cases is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of Massachusetts court systems and local procedural rules.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and proactively take initiative.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Familiarity with complex legal billing processes and billing software.

Flexible and willing to assume additional duties as required.

Professional and client-focused, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive, solution-oriented approach.
