Overview
Plaintiff Personal Injury Law Firm seeks Jr. Associate litigator to handle a case load of 30-50 cases from filing of lawsuit til resolution. This includes overseeing and monitoring, service of process, filings with court, CMCs, status conferences, defending depositions, preparing clients, taking some depositions, propounding written discovery and responding to written discovery, composing some demand letters, negotiating settlements, mediation briefs, and handling mediations. Must work well with a team, have a good personality, and be able to handle difficult clients with regular status checks with clients, insurance adjusters, defense attorneys, and vendors, medical facilities, etc. Must have some experience and be confident and comfortable negotiating settlements and liens, including handling DHCS and Medicare liens. All aspects of personal injury cases are involved. The majority of the cases and caseload, including appearances for other attorneys, will be smaller non-complex cases valued at under 100k. Issues may involve liability disputes, collectability issues, causation and the nature and extent of injuries and damages. Must have a good working knowledge of the medical-legal aspect of cases. Must have strong writing and communication skills. We have an old school approach to client service. We are an established busy small Plaintiff PI firm with 38+ years in business. Responsibilities
