Compensation & Benefits Manager , you will be responsible for the strategy, design, implementation, and administration of the organization’s total rewards programs, including employee benefits, compensation structures, and payroll oversight. This role requires expertise in both benefits and compensation frameworks, compliance knowledge, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. You will also oversee the payroll team and manage relationships with external vendors and brokers. Key Responsibilities : Benefits Management: Develop and oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and wellness initiatives. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing employee benefits, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA. Evaluate and recommend changes to benefit offerings to ensure market competitiveness, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals. Serve as the primary HR contact for benefits-related vendors (medical, 401(k), leave/disability, workers' compensation, etc.). Manage employee leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, state-specific leave laws, and internal leave policies. Collaborate with insurance brokers to manage and coordinate annual benefits enrollment. Prepare and submit required filings and reports (e.g., Form 5500, Summary Annual Reports, IRS filings). Facilitate new hire benefits orientations and lead annual open enrollment sessions. Provide hands-on support to employees on benefits-related inquiries and escalations. Compensation Management: Design, implement, and maintain competitive compensation structures that align with market trends and organizational strategy. Conduct regular compensation benchmarking, job evaluations, and market analysis to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness. Develop salary bands, pay ranges, and incentive programs that support employee retention and performance goals. Collaborate with HR and leadership on merit increases, promotions, and annual compensation planning cycles. Maintain compensation data integrity across systems and generate compensation reports for leadership review and compliance audits. Payroll Oversight: Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing through oversight of the payroll function using ADP Workforce Now. Support compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and internal controls related to payroll operations. Act as liaison between auditors, payroll team, and 403(b) retirement plan administrator during annual audits. Monitor regulatory changes in compensation and benefits laws; implement updates to maintain full compliance. Negotiate, manage, and evaluate vendor contracts to ensure service quality and cost control. Maintain accurate records for audit readiness and internal reporting needs. Key Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (preferred). 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including compensation and benefits administration, with 2+ years in a managerial role. Expertise in total rewards strategy, compensation benchmarking, benefits design, and payroll processes. Strong working knowledge of compensation and benefits laws and regulations (FLSA, ERISA, ACA, etc.). Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and regulatory compliance. Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred. Professional certifications such as CEBS, CBP, or CCP are a plus.
