Information Technology Specialist I Koniag Government Services
Koniag Government Services (KGS) is seeking qualified candidates for an Information Technology Specialist I to support KPS and our government customer in Washington, DC. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity. Responsibilities Perform a wide range of services to formulate and implement solutions to complex IT problems related to bureau-specific programs. Develop sophisticated systems solutions to address the bureau's IT functions and requirements, providing specialized knowledge in areas such as assembly/integration, cross-discipline functions, data engineering, industry expertise, knowledge engineering, and legacy evolution. Conceptualize, design, construct, test, and implement portions of business and technical IT solutions through appropriate software development life cycle methodologies. Interact with bureau managers and staff to understand the business environment, technical context, and strategic direction, define project scope, plans, and deliverables, analyze requirements, and participate in solution implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and conversions. Prepare technical documentation and maintain security, integrity, and business continuity controls and documentation.
Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in computer science, information systems, information systems development, information technology, or a related field/environment. Experience in database development, analysis, and management. Experience in conducting complex analyses of quantitative and qualitative data from various sources and results reporting.
Required Skills and Competencies
Excellent computer, computer networks, and database skills. Proficiency in statistical data analysis and data management software (e.g., SPSS). Experience migrating data between systems, databases, and networks to Access and/or Excel. Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures (internal controls) for computer networks and databases. Expertise in working with various database applications and computer network application packages. Strong understanding of statistical and research methodologies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software and database applications. Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Desired Skills and Competencies
Familiarity or experience working with U.S. foreign affairs agencies and/or international organizations. Foreign language skills preferred but not required. MCSE, CISSP, and PMP certifications are desirable. Knowledge of program administration, oversight, and monitoring procedures.
