Overview
DHS Business Development Senior Manager/Director role at KBR, Inc. is a front-end business development lead focused on DHS mission and technology programs. The Mission Technology Solutions BD Lead is responsible for building relationships with the government, creating a focused pipeline, and winning new business. The BD Lead engages with federal civilian customers and follows KBR BD processes. The BD Leader will drive large, prime single-award opportunities and top pursuits ranging from $50M to $1 billion. Agency focus includes CISA, USCIS, TSA, HQ, USCG, CBP, and ICE. Travel is required to KBR facilities and customer locations.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the management and execution of the full BD lifecycle process across pursuits and proposals.
Routinely build pipeline and advance winnable opportunities with average size of $200M+ solicitations at various stages of the capture lifecycle, primarily in federal civilian mission and technology programs.
Engage the customer, shape future procurements, design a winning strategy, assist in developing a capture plan that implements the strategy and translates into win themes.
Ensure the voice of the customer is reflected in content throughout the capture process.
Plan, lead, and execute BD activities to include:
Leading development of a healthy pipeline of new winnable opportunities
Qualifying and assessing win-ability of new opportunities and advancing them through milestones
Developing a plan to understand customer requirements, challenges, issues, and needs during the capture phase and leading solutioning/planning sessions with the capture team
Coordinating meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, timing, and contract vehicle choices
Leading milestone/gate reviews, black hat sessions, solution sessions, blue teams, and supporting proposal reviews
Leading the development and submission of white papers, RFIs, and other customer engagement activities
Applying KBR BD best practices to each pursuit, including customer engagement, solution, and win-theme development
Briefing pipeline and opportunity status to senior management at specified milestones
Creating winning solutions
Winning large new business programs
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of experience in business development and capture of contracts valued greater than $200M
Bachelor’s degree
Demonstrated ability to work with senior business and government leaders and to provide leadership within the workplace
Pre-existing knowledge and relationships with federal civilian agencies with a proven track record of winning single-award programs as a prime
Ability to win new business and drive profitable financial outcomes
Proven success in the following disciplines within Federal Civilian: Business development, opportunity identification and qualification, account and strategic planning
Demonstrated leadership skills in services-centric organizations to develop, organize and execute significant BD activities, including building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans to shape acquisitions
Proven track record of winning new business single-award contracts in Federal Civilian Agencies as a prime with contract values over $200M
Basic Compensation $190K - $280K. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may include sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
