What started out as a single restaurant with a vision to bring Burmese / Southeast Asian cuisine to the world has quickly turned into a family of restaurants, a non-profit organization, as well as a retail line and this is just the beginning.
Burma Inc is seeking a skilled and experienced GENERAL MANAGER to spearhead the operations at one of our Southeast Asian restaurants located in the up-and-coming Mission Bay neighborhood. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years managerial experience in the restaurant industry with a strong passion for helping us aim for a warm and approachable atmosphere with an unparallel dining experience that combines the rich tapestry of Southeast Asian cuisine.
As the GENERAL MANAGER you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, including staff management, service financial performance and compliance with health and safety regulations. Your primary goal will be to drive revenue growth, maintain-high quality standards and create a positive and welcoming environment for both guests and all team members.
Qualifications Skills and Qualifications :
Oversee daily restaurants operations, ensuring an excellent guest experience
Lead, motivate and manage a diverse team or staff, including hiring, training and scheduling
Monitor food quality and service standards to maintain consistency
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
Manage inventory, ordering and vendor relationships to ensure efficient supply and chain management
Drive profitability by analyzing financial reports, managing budgets and controlling costs
Collaborate with Executive Chef and kitchen team to curate and refine menu offerings
Build strong relationships with customers and local community to foster repeat business and loyalty
Ensure compliance with health, safety and labor regulations
Execute creative ideas to boost restaurant marketing, special events and overall visibility
Prior experience with a fast-paced restaurant with high volume sales of 5 million +
Knows about the busy atmosphere of conventions, large parties and tourist
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate all Front-of-House (FOH) activities to ensure guest experience
Train, mentor and lead team to waitstaff, hosts, bussers and bartenders. Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently met
Manage reservations, seating arrangements and customer flow to optimize restaurant efficiency
Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment for guest
Handle customer inquiries, feedback and compliant with professionalism, grace and efficiency
Work with Assistant General Manager (AGM) with any duties outside of regular hours, including scheduling, bank deposits, inventory and payroll
Monitor and approve all voids and discounts
Responsible for opening and closing duties of the restaurants as needed
Ensure the restaurant is ready for service at the beginning of every shift
This position reports to the Vice President (VP) of Restaurant Operations
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive Salary $95,000-105,000 (DOE)
Quarterly and annual performance-based bonus that can be up to 15-25% depending on restaurant operations
