About Homeless Children’s Network Homeless Children's Network (HCN) works to address two needs: the traumatic effects of homelessness and violence in the lives of young children and their families; and to establish a standard of care across a variety of shelters and housing programs. Working directly with the community, we help children and families address root traumas, explore healthier perspectives, and learn practical non-violent skills for managing stress. We provide comprehensive mental health services, case management, family education and support services, and community leadership.
Position Description The QA Associate assists the QA Director in determining client eligibility for Medi-Cal/EPSDT services, tracks clinical chart completion and due dates, and works with individual clinicians to answer ad hoc questions, correct errors, improve documentation quality, and ensure the accuracy of data entry.
Responsibilities
Providing one-on-one training for clinicians who need tutoring in Medi-Cal/clinical documentation (i.e., how to write progress notes or how to build a paper chart)
Providing training to staff and interns on documentation standards and best practices, including contributing to and updating the clinical training manual.
Ongoing chart review, both paper and electronic records in AVATAR, to ensure compliance with Medi-Cal and internal standards, including providing feedback on chart corrections and growth points to staff, supervisors, and directors
Input accurate and timely updates to internal monitoring systems (e.g. tracking for chart reviews, pending documentation corrections, clinician caseloads)
Generate operational reports from Avatar, in absence of the QA Director (e.g. units of service reports, error reports, caseload reports)
Attendance at internal staff meetings and monthly SFDPH meetings/trainings
Weekly department meeting with QA Director and other QA staff.
Weekly PURQC Committee meeting with QA Director and other QA staff
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work/Social Welfare, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field.
Registered or licensed with the Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) or active in the registration process
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and familiarity with Excel/G-Suite
Hybrid Remote/In-Person (Bayview district, with some meetings in Fillmore)
Preferred Qualifications
Experienced and knowledgeable in child development, especially in BIPOC families and communities
Familiar with resources and communities in San Francisco.
Experience in provision of therapy through EPSDT (Medi-Cal).
Experience utilizing the Avatar documentation system and/or EPIC
Working knowledge/experience related to issues of homelessness and domestic violence.
Positive attitude and team play with proven ability to work with people of different intersecting identities and learning styles.
