Free People Movement is growing and opening a new location in Santa Clara, CA. We are looking for a Store Manager to join this team. The Store Manager will lead and drive sales by taking an Omni channel approach to the retail experience, delivering an environment that is engaging and inspiring to the customer while shaping a store culture founded on fitness, wellness and happiness. Role Responsibilities
Lead the FP Movement team as a brand ambassador that embodies company values; partner with the leadership team on creating an engaging in-store experience through community connection, visual presentation and lifestyle Advocate for technology usage and train the team to transact in the moment to deliver a seamless Omni-channel retail experience; ensure merchandising and display presentations create a compelling atmosphere Cultivate an environment of genuine customer connection and encourage the team to build lasting relationships through personalized service, product recommendations, and connections with customers on shared wellness and fitness interests Collaborate with the store team and Home Office on building fitness connections and consistent event programming reflective of local customer interests; oversee planning and execution of inspiring events to drive engagement Leadership & Team Management
Continuously talent plan to build a strong internal bench, maintain a network of great candidates, hire exceptional people, and create personalized succession paths; facilitate onboarding for all new hires to drive a strong brand, customer and store connection Participate as the manager-on-duty by driving engagement in each zone through communication, adaptability, and fostering a collaborative selling environment; demonstrate strong decision-making and multi-tasking capabilities Prioritize employee development to ensure team expertise on product fit, fabrication and function to inform and inspire the customer; provide timely and specific feedback to create a culture of action and accountability Visual & Business Operations
Oversee daily operating procedures; responsible for staff scheduling and payroll management Collaborate with key partners to lead timely and effective execution of visual priorities for the store; interpret Home Office visual direction to impact store structure, display, merchandising, and outfitting Utilize company tools to analyze business opportunities within product placement, outfitting, and stock levels; network with the local community to stay informed on fitness and wellness trends for event ideas to drive community connection and sales Adhere to store safety standards, inventory accuracy, reduction of product loss, and uphold all company policies and procedures to support store profitability Communication & Relationships
Lead with an inclusive, people-first philosophy; engage employees at all levels to encourage open dialogue, follow-through, and ensure the store team is heard and supported Foster a culture of communication and teamwork to balance customer service, operational tasks, and visual needs; stay current with interoffice communication while ensuring important information reaches all team members Develop goals and provide feedback for team growth; protect time with direct reports for ongoing development Provide global insight related to the customer experience and share store-specific scenarios and ideas within company and district forums Role Qualifications
2+ years of store leadership experience Passion for FP Movement and/or connection to the local fitness community Proven track record of hiring and developing great talent Strong understanding of merchant process and its impact on the business Experience in coaching and conflict resolution Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays The Perks
