Director of Clinical Operations

role at

ensures that clinical placements associated with undergraduate and graduate degrees and certifications in the College of Education are of the highest quality for both UMSL candidates and our community partners. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with internal and external partners. The Director assesses current and future needs and plans accordingly, establishing and monitoring short- and long-term goals and projects. The individual uses excellent judgment to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day operational challenges and sensitive issues. The position requires participation and leadership in College, University, and State committees and contexts specific to the role. The Director of Clinical Operations reports to the faculty Director of Teacher Education and coordinates closely with other Directors in the College of Education. The Director of Clinical Operations will manage and supervise support staff in the Office of Clinical Experience. Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include development, implementation, revision, and supervision of systems to manage the following: Policies and expectations for candidates and supervisors in clinical experiences Partnership communications, trainings, and agreements, including MOUs Compliance with health and safety requirements for placements Placement procedures for schools and community partners Advisement and preparation of candidates for practicum experiences Professional support and intervention for candidates in need Evaluation of partnerships and candidate experiences Resources for partner sites and collaborators, ensuring that community partners have access to relevant and current program information Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in education or related field; doctoral degree preferred. Anticipated Hiring Range
