Overview

GVW Group is seeking a proven, results-driven Vice President of Sales and Business Development to lead growth in the refuse and environmental services industry, with a focus on refuse capital goods and related solutions. This role drives market share growth through a differentiated, value-based sales approach and requires an operational, process-driven leader who can build and manage elite sales teams and execute complex go-to-market strategies. Responsibilities

Own the full revenue lifecycle: demand generation, pipeline acceleration, deal conversion, and account expansion, including long-term contracts. Grow market share with existing customers and develop a market penetration strategy that captures business from established competitors by demonstrating the true value of our products. Evangelize the value proposition—innovation, reliability, lifecycle cost advantage—to win accounts based on strategic value and performance rather than discounting. Lead and manage a high-performance sales and business development team: recruit, coach, develop, establish clear KPIs, territory plans, quotas, and incentive alignment; conduct regular reviews to ensure execution and overachievement. Implement and enforce structured sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC, Challenger, Sandler); build forecasting discipline, CRM hygiene, and a sales operations rhythm for executive visibility and data-driven decisions. Drive strategic business development and partnerships: identify new verticals, fleet accounts, municipalities, and strategic partners; lead contract negotiations, RFP responses, and alliances; represent the company at industry events to elevate brand and engagement. Collaborate with product development, engineering, operations, and marketing to translate customer needs into actionable insights and innovations; provide feedback to align offerings with market dynamics. Work on-site at the Birmingham, AL facility and contribute to a culture of accountability and operational excellence. Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or technical background (engineering, logistics, operations) strongly preferred. Experience: 10+ years of senior-level sales and business development experience, with at least 5+ years in refuse, environmental services, or industrial vehicles. Skills: Demonstrated success in taking market share from legacy players; ability to lead and scale high-performance teams; deep experience with formalized sales processes and CRM; data-literate and operationally minded; strong executive presence with a strategic mindset to engage at all levels from fleet operators to C-suite. Work Environment and Location

Located onsite at the Birmingham, AL facility. The role requires the ability to wear appropriate PPE and work in a manufacturing and field environment. Compensation and Benefits
