Overview
You will be a part of the Network Security Operations team responsible for Cyber Defense and Engineering. The team’s primary focus is the management of security and defense platforms, technologies, tools, and services supporting security controls across TikTok's environments. As a Network Security Operations Specialist, you will support cross-functional teams including cyber, privacy, and data protection engineers, architects, and analysts to deploy, integrate, and manage technologies to protect data in accordance with relevant geographical regulations, contractual commitments, and confidentiality requirements. At this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time. Responsibilities
Must be skilled in conducting technical analysis of network security and business problems, including threats, incidents, investigations, workforce protection, and other security-related issues. Communicate effectively, coordinate response and defensive actions across security disciplines, and disseminate security information to support TikTok's critical business, go-to-market, and operational infrastructure needs. Apply in-depth knowledge of network architecture, troubleshooting, and security protocols to design, implement, and maintain secure network systems and connectivity. Security Design & Implementation: Develop, deploy, and maintain security architectures (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network access controls). Threat Monitoring & Analysis: Continuously monitor network traffic, logs, and alerts to identify and respond to security threats in real-time. Incident Response: Investigate and respond to security breaches; perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits to identify and address risks. Security Policies & Procedures: Develop and enforce security best practices, protocols, and policies for network security operations. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure network security compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS). Security Upgrades & Patching: Maintain latest security patches across network systems and devices. Collaboration & Training: Work with IT teams, developers, and management to strengthen security posture; provide guidance and training on security practices. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, incidents, processes, and troubleshooting procedures. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in network security with a track record of designing and implementing security solutions. Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of network protocols, architecture, and security technologies (firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, DLP, etc.); experience with security monitoring tools (SIEM, packet sniffers); proficiency in penetration testing and vulnerability assessments; familiarity with Windows/Linux and cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure); knowledge of encryption, authentication, and authorization protocols. Strong ability to identify and mitigate risks, troubleshoot network issues, and make sound decisions under pressure. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Travel: Open to travel as needed. Preferred Qualifications:

Compensation details: The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $118,800 - $196,000 annually. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay may include additional discretionary bonuses, incentives, and stock units. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance from day one, a 401(k) with company match, parental leave, disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, paid holidays, sick days, and paid personal time (prorated on hire with tenure-based accruals).
